Zen at New Moon Zendo

At New Moon Zendo, we emphasize the importance of zazen (zen meditation). In bi-monthly talks and group discussions, and in individual meetings with our teacher, we explore how to do zazen and how our experience of it changes our lives. To help us in this we study the teachings of zen masters old and new, as well as the traditional teachings of Buddhism.

Our style of practice is informal but disciplined; religious and devotional practices found in Zen Buddhism are de-emphasized. We aim to create an atmosphere in which atheists, agnostics, and people of all faiths can practice comfortably and feel at home.
